Private William Robinson

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

William Robinson enlisted in the North Irish Horse on 5 October 1917 (No.2695). He was described as being 5' 6¾" tall, with a pale complexion, fair hair and blue eyes. He stated that he was born at Moneymore, County Londonderry and was aged 19. He gave his occupation as a farmer.

He trained at the regiment's reserve base at Antrim, but was reported to have deserted on 19 November and on 6 December 1917. Whether he subsequently returned to duty is not known at present.
